Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the website located at sololevel.io and the SoloLevel mobile application (collectively, the "Service"), operated by SoloLevel ("we," "us," or "our").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not access or use the Service.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years of age to use the Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you are at least 16 years old and have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Account Registration

To use the Service, you must create an account using a valid email address. Authentication is performed via a passwordless magic link sent to your email. You are responsible for:

  • Maintaining the security of the email account associated with your SoloLevel account.
  • All activity that occurs under your account, whether or not authorized by you.
  • Notifying us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we reasonably believe have been compromised or are being used in violation of these Terms.

3. Description of the Service

SoloLevel is a gamified task management application designed for solopreneurs and individual founders. The Service includes:

  • Task management with a focus on daily accountability ("One Thing" workflow).
  • Gamification including experience points (XP), levels, streaks, and achievements.
  • AI-generated content from "Nana," an in-app virtual companion powered by Anthropic's Claude API, including daily motivational nudges and nightly reflection poems.
  • Push notifications (iOS) for daily accountability nudges, if opted in.
  • Social sharing to X (formerly Twitter), if you connect your account.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law or regulation.
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service.
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service or any other systems or networks connected to the Service.
  • Use automated means (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Service, except as expressly permitted by us in writing.
  • Transmit any viruses, worms, defects, Trojan horses, or other items of a destructive nature.
  • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person or to create task content that is unlawful, defamatory, obscene, or otherwise objectionable.
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the Service.

We reserve the right to investigate and take appropriate action, including suspending or terminating your account, for any violation of these Terms.

5. User Content

"User Content" means any content you create, submit, or store through the Service, including task titles, project names, and associated data.

Ownership. You retain all ownership rights in your User Content. We do not claim any ownership interest in your User Content.

License. By submitting User Content to the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, store, display, and process your User Content solely as necessary to provide, maintain, and improve the Service. This includes transmitting limited, non-identifying task data to Anthropic for AI content generation (see our Privacy Policy for details).

Shared Content. If you choose to share content (such as nightly poems) to X or other platforms, you are responsible for that content and any consequences of sharing it publicly. Once shared externally, that content is subject to the terms of the receiving platform.

6. AI-Generated Content

The Service includes content generated by artificial intelligence (specifically, Anthropic's Claude API), including daily nudge messages and nightly reflection poems delivered through the "Nana" companion feature.

  • AI-generated content is provided for motivational and entertainment purposes only and does not constitute professional advice of any kind.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of AI-generated content.
  • AI-generated content may occasionally produce unexpected, inaccurate, or inappropriate outputs despite our safeguards. We are not liable for any reliance you place on such content.
  • We do not use your data to train or fine-tune AI models. Your task data is used only for real-time content generation and is not retained by Anthropic.

7. Third-Party Services and Integrations

The Service integrates with third-party services including Supabase (database and authentication), Anthropic (AI content generation), Apple Push Notification service (push notifications), and X Corp (social sharing). Your use of these integrations is subject to the respective third party's terms of service and privacy policies.

We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or content of third-party services. Third-party integrations are provided "as is" and we make no warranties regarding their continued availability or functionality.

8. Fees and Payment

The Service is currently provided free of charge. We reserve the right to introduce paid features, subscription plans, or other pricing in the future. If we do, we will provide you with reasonable advance notice and obtain your consent before charging any fees. We will never retroactively charge for features that were free when you used them.

9. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding User Content), features, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of SoloLevel. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Our trademarks, trade names, and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service without our prior written consent.

The "Nana" character, including its personality, dialogue style, and associated creative elements, is proprietary to SoloLevel.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or course of performance.

We do not warrant that: (a) the Service will function uninterrupted, securely, or be available at any particular time or location; (b) any errors or defects will be corrected; (c) the Service is free of viruses or other harmful components; or (d) the results of using the Service will meet your requirements.

SoloLevel is a productivity tool and does not provide business, financial, legal, or professional advice. Any decisions you make based on your use of the Service are your sole responsibility.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall SoloLevel, its officers, directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including without limitation loss of profits, data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from: (a) your access to or use of, or inability to access or use, the Service; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the Service; (c) any content obtained from the Service, including AI-generated content; or (d) unauthorized access, use, or alteration of your transmissions or content.

Our total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of fifty U.S. dollars (USD $50.00) or the amount you paid us, if any, in the twelve (12) months preceding the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SoloLevel and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property or privacy right; or (d) any content you share externally through the Service.

13. Termination

By You. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at the email address below. Upon termination, all of your data will be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By Us. We may terminate or suspend your access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including without limitation if you breach these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

The following sections survive termination: Sections 5 (User Content — license), 9 (Intellectual Property), 10 (Disclaimers), 11 (Limitation of Liability), 12 (Indemnification), 14 (Governing Law), and 15 (Dispute Resolution).

14. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Texas, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any legal action or proceeding arising under these Terms shall be brought exclusively in the federal or state courts located in Travis County, Texas, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

15. Dispute Resolution

Informal Resolution First. Before filing any formal legal action, you agree to attempt to resolve any dispute with us informally by contacting us at the email address below. We will attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 60 days. If the dispute is not resolved within 60 days, either party may proceed with formal legal action.

No Class Actions. You agree that any dispute resolution proceedings will be conducted only on an individual basis and not in a class, consolidated, or representative action. If this provision is found to be unenforceable, then the entirety of this dispute resolution section shall be null and void.

16. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date above. For material changes that affect your rights or obligations, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you via email or through a notice within the Service. Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.

17. General Provisions

  • Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SoloLevel regarding the Service.
  • Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.
  • Waiver. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right or provision.
  • Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign our rights and obligations under these Terms without restriction.
  • Force Majeure. We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, acts of government, internet or infrastructure failures, or pandemics.
